Do You Have an LLC Registered in NY? Big BOI deadline Jan 1st.

Although everyone is thinking of the Corporate Transparency Act (“CTA”) as dead, the State of New York has passed the New York LLC Transparency Act which, as its name implies, only applies to NY limited liability companies.  

Among other things, the new law includes Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) reporting requirements that are very similar to the CTA.

If your organizational structure includes a New York LLC, you will need to comply with this new law. And quickly - it has an initial effective date of January 1, 2026.
